Spiraxial 51/4x 63/4 LAL-SP-SVP atomizing air compressor
Dresser-Rand offers new, refurbished and remanufactured Spiraxial atomizing air compressors for a variety of market applications.
Mode of Operation
As a positive displacement compressor, the Spiraxial compressor displaces a specific amount of air with each revolution. Each rotor is a single-screw thread. As the two rotors intermesh, they rotate in opposite directions. The inlet cavity is positioned so that the advancing helix closes off the pocket of air after it has filled. As the helix advances, the pocket squeezes the air against the discharge end headplate. After the required degree of compression has been reached, the rotor uncovers a discharge port and compressed air is released into a plenum in the headplate.
